    Assumptions, stated plainly

    • 2026 tax year, Ontario resident, federal and Ontario brackets and credits as published for 2026.
    • Full federal and Ontario basic personal amounts applied. High earners face a BPA phase-out the calculator does not model.
    • CPP is computed on your gig earnings only. If you also have T4 employment income, total pensionable earnings are capped once across all sources; the report explains the adjustment.
    • EI is not included. Self-employed workers generally do not pay EI premiums.
    • GST/HST: $30,000 small-supplier threshold over any four consecutive quarters. Rideshare drivers must register from the first dollar.
    • Quarterly tax installments are generally required when net tax owing exceeds $3,000. Confirm your situation with CRA or an accountant.
Important: GigTax gives estimates for planning only. It is not professional tax advice, not a CRA assessment, and not a guarantee of what you will owe. Tax rules change; confirm anything you act on with CRA or a licensed accountant.
